Our Club
Welcome to Bill Sohier Park (One Agency Oval) home of the Ourimbah Wyoming Magpies
Our proud club was established 1913 and is one of the founding members of the Central Coast competition, we are filled with a rich history which flows through our club to its volunteers and players. The Magpies prides itself on fostering, supporting and promoting our players to the highest level that they want to achieve.
Over the years the Magpies have produced some amazing players which have gone on to play in the NRL and representing their country playing for Australia.
Ourimbah’s first international was Batchelor Jones who represented the Waratah’s against the All Blacks prior to the club joining the Rugby League Competition.
Over the years the club has boasted many fine players who have gone onto prominence for Optus and Telstra Cup teams, such as;
Robbie Ross who represented NSW and Australia at schoolboy level, First Grade in 1997 for the Hunter Mariners and went on to play for Melbourne Storm NRL
John Carlaw Ourimbah Junior, went on to play the Auckland Warriors NRL
Perry Haddock, Ourimbah Junior, went on to play for Cronulla Sharks, Perry also invented and owns the game of Oztag.
Michael Fortier, Junior Life Member, with the Newcastle Knights, but the most successful is International, State of Origin
David Fairleigh, who in 1994 was the recipient of the prestigious Rothman’s Medal for the Best & Fairest player in what was then the Winfield Cup.
James Moloney was also helped steer the Roosters to 2013 premiership and the Sharks to their inaugural grand final win in 2016.
